CHCNAV RS10 SLAM System – Handheld 3D laser scanner

The CHCNAV RS10 combines GNSS RTK positioning, LiDAR laser scanning, and visual SLAM technology into one powerful 3D measurement solution. The RS10 enables accurate and fast point cloud collection both indoors and outdoors, even in environments where GNSS signals are weak or unavailable.

Measure quickly – even in challenging locations

With the RS10, georeferenced 3D point cloud data can be collected while moving freely through the environment being measured. The combination of GNSS RTK and SLAM technology allows for flexible operation in open outdoor spaces as well as in buildings, tunnels, and other difficult-to-access locations.

Key benefits

  • GNSS RTK, LiDAR, and visual SLAM in one device
  • 16- or 32-channel LiDAR scanner
  • Measurement range up to 120 or 300 m depending on the model
  • Point collection rate up to 320,000 or 640,000 points/s
  • Absolute accuracy at best less than 5 cm
  • Relative accuracy less than 1 cm
  • Real-time georeferenced point cloud
  • Three HD cameras, total 15 MP
  • Loop-free data collection
  • 512 GB internal storage
  • Replaceable battery for continuous operation
  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor use

GNSS RTK and SLAM in the same system

The RS10 integrates precise GNSS RTK positioning, LiDAR scanning, and visual SLAM technology. These allow for seamless transitions from outdoor to indoor environments, continuing measurements even in areas where satellite visibility is limited.

The system's absolute accuracy is at best less than 5 cm and relative accuracy less than 1 cm. In RTK measurement, accuracy is up to 8 mm + 1 ppm horizontally and 15 mm + 1 ppm vertically.

Real-time point cloud collection

The RS10 enables the creation of georeferenced point clouds directly in the field. Real-time mapping gives the user an immediate view of the collected data, allowing measurement coverage to be monitored while working.

According to CHCNAV, the system can map areas of up to approximately 13,000 m² in real-time.

Efficient LiDAR scanning

The RS10 is available in 16- or 32-channel versions. The LiDAR range is up to 120 or 300 meters depending on the model, and the point collection rate is up to 320,000 or 640,000 points per second.

Dense point cloud data is suitable for, among other things, building documentation, as-built measurements, infrastructure projects, BIM modeling, and topographic mapping.

Visual data as part of 3D measurement

The RS10's three 5 MP cameras form a 15-megapixel camera system. The cameras complement the LiDAR data with visual information and enable more precise documentation of objects as well as visual positioning.

Loop-free – smooth operation without unnecessary laps

The combination of GNSS RTK and SLAM technology reduces the need to constantly return to the same points as in traditional SLAM measurements. Loop-free data collection makes workflows more straightforward and facilitates the mapping of large areas.

Designed for efficient field work

The RS10, with a weight of approximately 1.7–1.9 kg, is designed for handheld measurement work. A replaceable battery allows for continuous operation without shutting down the device. The runtime of one battery is about 60 minutes, and thanks to the hot-swap function, the battery can be changed during measurement.

Suitable for diverse professional use

The RS10 is suitable for, for example:

  • 3D mapping
  • land surveying
  • building documentation
  • as-built measurements
  • BIM modeling
  • measurement of infrastructure objects
  • topographic mapping
  • mapping of tunnels and underground objects
  • forestry and vegetation mapping
  • inspections of power lines and networks
  • volume measurements of stockpiles
  • 3D measurement of indoor and outdoor spaces
